About the Author
Douglas Thiel has instructed philosophy courses for 20 years. He has an unusual background since he served as a Marine in Vietnam and worked in civilian law enforcement. As a philosophy instructor, he sees philosophy as a living enterprise that travels back to the early Greek philosophers who searched for the foundation of knowledge and asked the important questions about "how we ought to live". This process has continued throughout history as different generations have added to the conversation.
