She doesn’t know him from Adam, but he’s the first person to make an effort to help her, so she trusts him and sets her heart on his rescue. Things don’t go exactly as planned, but the memory of his kindness helps her hold on.Linear Tactical operative Aiden Teague can tell something isn’t right with Violet the second he lays eyes on her, but he’s undercover pretending he’s one of these low lifes and can’t just snatch her up and whisk her away. The plan he has to rescue her goes awry, but nothing can stop his ambition to find her again. When opportunity knocks, he’s all in!
The plot in this book ties in with the two previous books in the series; Cyclone and Eagle. And I would recommend reading those two before Shamrock.Aiden works for Linear Tactical, and is undercover when he sees Violet. He understands that she’s not there of her own free will and saves her from a situation, buying some time with her. They have an instant connection despite the situation they’re in, and Aiden decides to risk trying to get her out but fails – the first time. With the help of his team and a few others they eventually get her out, but not without some damage.I really enjoyed this book. It was a real page turner and a perfect combination of romance and suspense. It does deal with a difficult subject – sex trafficking – and some scenes broke my heart. But it was so very well written it grabbed my attention from the very first sentence, and what an emotional, hot/sweet, action-packed and intense ride it was.The rest of the gang from Linear Tactical, as well as Anne and Charlie, shows up throughout this story. And I really liked how Anne and Charlie reached out to Violet and showed their support and made her their friend. But what I liked the most was the building of the romantic relationship between Aiden and Violet, and the amount of healing and growing they did – both together and separate – which made their relationship and HEA so much more believable.I feel like the series just keeps getting better with each book, and I think this is my favourite of the three. I’m really looking forward to Jordan and Gabe`s story next, “Angelâ€,in February. If someone deserves some happiness, it`s definitely Jordan. And I kind of like Gabe for her, despite the way he treated her in the beginning. I’m sure he’ll make it up to her 😉
I love this series to much! What I love most? That's hard to pick, but I think it might be how bad A Janie makes the heroines. They become stronger with the support of the men who love them and then they prove it to themselves in the worst of situations. They save themselves and their loves. It's empowering and awesome. But I also love that it's clear that they're both stronger together and that it's not a competition over who is stronger or the savior of the couple. It's equal and loving. You can feel their connection and love for each other in each interaction and it's refreshingly real.I love each of the characters and that they're so connected in each other's stories. I can't wait to read the next 3 books, and I know Angel is gonna be an emotional doozy.
I'm loving this series. Each book and each couple brings something new to the table.Aiden and Violet are amazing together. I loved his need to make her see how strong she really is despite everything that happened to her. His patients and love for her was a real turn on. As for Violet; I loved her attitude that she had about taking what she wanted and not letting anything get in her way.This series has become one of my favourite if not the favourite. I absolutely love this book!! Shamrock has action, romance, steamy, heart melting, and heart wrenching scenes! As your reading, it's like you are right there with the characters. You see Violet change form a mild mannered defenseless 22 yr. old to a strong willed, capable, and able to defend herself. It is an awesome transformation!! Aiden helped her along the way but Violet did most of it herself! That's what happens after you are kidnapped and a lot of bad things happen to you! You either learn to defend yourself or keep running away. You will definitely enjoy everything this book delivers!!!
I'll admit, I read this in 3 or 4 nights. The author is good at getting you to keep turning the page. I enjoyed the genre (romance/thriller) but the writing wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Too much telling, not showing, and too much reliance on summarizing,The romance between Violet and Aidan is solid. They are hot for each other and the sex scenes are erotic. But it's also kind of creepy. She gets sexually assaulted at the beginning and later Aidan jokes to her that he's going to throw her onto her stomach and have his way with her. And then he does. Very insensitive to SA victims.I might give another one of the author's book a try because she does write cool books, but hopefully Shamrock wasn't one of her best attempts.
